Keeping
them Groomed:
Due to the
economy these days, we realize that obvious expenses can be spared when canines
get shorter trims hoping more time will lapse between grooming sessions. We
have enjoyed seeing our regular clients with style variations! Some canines
simply skip their 6-8 week regular grooming appointments to opt for a shaggier
style for a while. While b
oth
these methods prove beneficial in saving money, please realize that with the
later, more effort must be put into their coats at home. A good anti-static
slicker brush is highly recommended for longer coats. Brushing regularly can
eliminate hair mats from forming. A matted canine will incur bigger expenses at
the veterinarian’s office if skin problems develop, and will also cause higher
grooming fees for the removal of mats. If you are planning for a “holiday do”
for your canine, please plan ahead. We have limited appointments on a given day
to ensure
quality,
and a stress-free atmosphere. Remember, our boarding peak seasons bring a rush
of requests, especially on return days (end of the peak season dates). Slots
fill up quickly. Why not make your future appointment today?
Nail
Trim Special:
As you may
already know, our charge for nail trimming is $10.00 and additional pets at
$5.00. Although we believe this price to be reasonable, we will also be running
specials throughout the year to minimize the cost of this much needed service.
Please visit our website to find out about our specials. We are always updating
our site to satisfy the thousands that visit.

Ready?
Set? Go!:
Pet’s
luggage needs to be ready to go to boarding much like a mother leaving for the
hospital to have a baby. Over the years, we have given you many tips to
remember while packing: check-list of necessary items, suggestions on how to
store the items, and preparing extras, just to name a few. Our requirements
consist of shot history, prepacked food, leash, collar, medications
(preventative and necessary ones), and a sturdy, labeled bag. Pack ahead.
That’s one less thing to take care of when leaving for a planned trip or even an
unexpected one.
We Thank
You:
Orion
Kennel Club has had the honor of welcoming new clients this year. We really
appreciate the new business, some of which has been referrals from you. In
these hard economic times, many of the kennels in Oakland County could not keep
their doors open. We are
fortunate
to offer our services at a fair and reasonable rate, and will continue to offer
the best care for every pet that boards with us. Boarding is our specialty.
Although we do not have a lot of bells and whistles you might hear about (brass
beds, TV, video cams, etc.), we strive for providing the best boarding services
possible. Again, thank you for your trust.
We Share
in Sorrow:
This year
has brought much sadness with many of our canine and feline friends passing on
to old age and illness. We have felt blessed and privileged that they were
entrusted in our care for so long, and that we were able to build relationships
with them and their owners. Our hearts go out to their owners, and we will
never forget our friends.
Closing
the Books for the Year:
We are
managing through these difficult times, and we are looking forward to putting
this year behind us. Orion Kennel Club will focus on the care you have
entrusted us with, and we will continue to maintain and upgra
de
our building to ensure safety and cleanliness. Education has always been
important, and the staff will continue to learn. Other companies have been
forced to make employee changes. I am pleased to say that we will not be making
any employee changes, as we are blessed to not have to cut back. I am proud
and pleased to be able to keep my dedicated, wonderful employees!

We are
hopeful that the New Year will bring many good things to each and every one of
you.
