Two Decades With the
Same Fundamentals....
Where can you go these days
and pay for exactly what you need; only what you want, and feel comfortable
with that decision? For twenty years, patrons of the Orion Kennel Club
Inc. in Lake Orion, Michigan have experienced that customer satisfaction.
Oddly enough, offering strictly
what the customer needs, and perfecting that vehicle, has proven to be very
successful. Orion Kennel Club Inc. chooses to stick with the basics of
offering only canine and feline boarding and professional grooming.
In 1987, Orion Kennel Club Inc.
built an innovative facility which was created to meet the demands of
traveling pet owners. The option of boarding your pets was then, and
continues to be, taken very seriously. Orion Kennel Club Inc. was originally
designed with comfort and safety in mind. We have applied advanced
construction to ensure additional safety by installing alarms in the event
of malfunctions of our floor heat system, ventilations system and water
system just to name a few. We continue to use the same proven-safe and
effective cleaning product to maintain our facility. We have heated
floors (for comfort), concrete flooring and walls (for prevention of
harboring germs), heavily gauged fencing (for security) and segregated
rooms (for individual comfort and safety). Although no place is
considered pet proof, our design lowers the risk of injuries and escape.
We have also experienced necessary expansion to include more pet boarding
rooms and yards for outdoor exercise time.
There are no televisions in the
guest's room (only soothing music), there are no specialty suites at higher
costs (only large single and double rooms), there is no group play
secessions with other guests (yet 4 large yards for independent play unlike
some kennels that only have one yard for group play, there
are no specialty foods provided (you must send in your pet's meals), we
don't have carpet flooring yet our building has concrete heated floors for
germ control and relaxation. No brass beds here however we do provide highly
durable beds for safe snuggling. Furthermore Orion Kennel Club has a highly
skilled staff with our countless amenities to ensure our primary goal
(safety, comfort, clean and professionalism). We have been able to offer
such above average services with moderate rates.
Orion Kennel Club Inc. is
conveniently located off I-75 Highway. Set back off one of the most traveled
roads in Lake Orion, Michigan (M-24 Lapeer Road). We continue to have clientele that spreads throughout the state of Michigan.
Our staff is very grateful to
have serviced so many people and pets over he last two decades.
Family's generations of pets have been in our care and we welcome new
ones. Without a doubt, pet ownership is very common. Think about
it. How many relatives, friends and acquaintances do you know that
have canines and felines as their additional family members? Orion
Kennel Club Inc. will continue to offer high standards when boarding and
grooming your pets. Our fundamentals will continue and Orion Kennel
Club Inc. is an establishment to consider first when the need arises.

Offering age-appropriate pet care:

We persevere with our
abilities in pet care. Our credentials continue to allow us to care for
your pets during certain transitions in their lives.

We do not, however, offer
boarding or any type of developmental care for pets' infancy stages of
life (puppies/kittens under 6 months of age), nor do we offer boarding
or specific health care for pets in their later years and those
recovering from any type of surgery.

Our logic stands firm.
Boarding a young animal may jeopardize their most developmental phase.
Boarding the very old may endanger their health and comfort.

Having been in business for so long,
we are encountering a cycle where our guests are either very young or
very old. This has prompted us to remind you of the type of care we do
offer. Since this cycle is upon many of our guests, we researched
companies that can accommodate you if you are in that specific

Reliable Guardians:

As popular as cell phones
may be, they have proven to be ineffective at times; particularly when
we try to reach you or your emergency contact person in the event of a
minor or major circumstance regarding your pet. Instances of
ineffectiveness are that service may not be available in your travel
location, recharging your batteries or turning phones on is not top
priority on vacation, many drop zones can occur, etc.

As always when you drop off your pet
at Orion Kennel Club, we ask for contact names and numbers. Having more
than one back up is critical! ANYTIME a medical concern or situation
arises, we must be able to reach a reliable person. Said person will
need to perform decision-making and/or transportation. You must arrange
ahead of time someone to accept such a responsibility in your absence.
After two decades, this continues to be our number one priority!
